Ärende: Re: The Vietnam Situation

Dear Hoan, Thanh and Mr. Bau,

I was very pleased to receive both Minh and Mr. Bau's emails.  Thank you Minh, for reading my story and for your understanding and especially for telling me about your earlier life history. Yes, we do share many similarities in our lives, except that you left meetings in as a teenager and I left when I was 40 years old.

Edgar has shared your letter and picture where you wrote:  "My father has prepared already the answers for aunt  Cherie Kropp, but we want her to wait us for a short time more. Surely I will send these answers, in order anyone who want to know the two by two in Vietnam can have the understand from the beginning."

I was very glad to read that you plan to share the Vietnam story.  The information will be welcome whenever you feel comfortable sharing it and decide to to allow it to be posted on TTT.

I am so sorry to hear about the great distress of the friends "about the situation in Vietnam" and "difficulties that have come to God's people in Vietnam" and your "friends who are suffering in great misery."   Would it be possible for you to write more about the difficulties and suffering the your family and the VN friends have been experiencing?  What particular changes have the Canadian workers made the last 3 years that has caused such distress and suffering?

It warmed my heart to read in Mr. Bau's email that you all are clinging to Rev 2:25:  "that which ye have already hold fast till I come."

I look forward to hearing more from you.

Kind regards,

Cherie Kropp

Here are the words to hymn 367 in Hymns Old & New used by the English speaking friends and workers:

Hold Fast

Hold fast thy confidence;
Lay not thine armour down.
Let neither moth nor rust destroy,
And no man take thy crown.
Hold fast eternal life;
His promises are true.
If we will firm and steadfast stand,
With strength He will renew.

           Hold fast, hold fast to what thou hast attained;
           Lay not thine armour down.
           Hold fast, and be thou faithful unto death;
           Let no man take thy crown.

Stand fast when tested sore,
Though keener grows the fight;
Thy Leader true has gone before:
Stand by His Spirit's might.
Our comrades have been tried
And constant hardships met;
Our God can ne'er unrighteous be
Our labour to forget.

Steadfast in heart and mind,
Come, let us follow on;
Fear not the foe; take courage new,
Till victory is won.
Thy Saviour's name hold fast;
Ne'er shun the cross or pain.
Have confidence and hope in God:
Enduring, we shall reign.
